Welcome to Lombok, a tiny Indonesian island that provides uncrowded white sand beaches with crystal clear water, shores that can make you breathless, world-class surf breaks, particular cultural pursuits, and more experiences your trip may comprise! Lombok has frequently been likened to local neighbor Bali, however at the very least a decade of growth behind, with much more traffic, fewer visitors, and amazing organic attractions. Yet, as cliche as it seems, Lombok does have something for everybody.

After spending much time in Bali island, where the shores are missing that sand and warm water mix, we forgot precisely how gorgeous black beaches could be! Lombok is a fantasy destination for all beach lovers, and here are a couple of the favorites.

  • Kuta Lombok Beaches at the South

Kuta Lombok (never to be confused with the far more crowded Kuta Bali!) It is a cute little town gearing to the next Canggu, Bali. It is an ideal place to base yourself from, with loads of inexpensive guesthouses, hip restaurants, and cafes enjoying live music during the day. Even though the beach in the city is still more so-so, Kuta’s shores are all unbelievable. Our favorites in the region include Tanjung Aan, Selong Belanak, Mawi Beach, Semeti Beach along with Lansing Beach. Rent a scooter for the day (or week) and then learn more about the area to find many debatable spots.

  • Senggigi Beaches from the West

Senggigi is as near to a resort city as Lombok has. The majority of the resorts can be found across Raya Senggigi, a very long road that hugs the shore. There is not a lot to do in the town. However, the shores surrounding this region are magnificent! We recommend renting a bicycle and driving north around Raya Senggigi to delight in the views. Our favorite beaches in the region are Setangi Beach, Ludmila Beach, Nipah Beach, and Pandanan Beach. While researching the shores, cease by Nipah to get a tasty fresh fish lunch in the numerous beachside sellers.

  • The Gilis

If you genuinely would like to visit some of the most incredible beaches in Lombok, the Gilis are where it is at. When there are lots of gilis about Lombok (gili only means tiny island at Sasak), you will find just three Gilis, the most famous. These have stunning beaches but quite distinct flora.

Gili Trawangan, also referred to as Gili T, is famed because of its backpacker party beats, nightclubs that pound songs until the early morning, and effortless availability to mushroom replacements (yep, these mushrooms!). Gili Air is a chilled-out version of Gili T, even if you substitute the nightclubs with accessible beach pubs and spend your evenings sipping on cocktails on bean bags on the shore instead of dancing the night off. Gili Meno is your fans island and also the tons of the three, ideal for honeymooners!

  • Mawi Beach

Only south of Selong Belanak is Mawi shore. This Lombok shore is undeveloped and superbly silent. On a bright day, Mawi shore is a true beauty. We just spotted another couple on the long stretch of sand. The path to Mawi is quite challenging and maybe somewhat treacherous if you are not utilized to riding a motorbike. Be particularly cautious if it has recently rained since the sand can be hard to bicycle. If you go slow, however, you are going to be OK! The benefit of braving the rocky road is coming in the sand to discover you have the entire beach to yourself!

  • Lancing Beach

Further along, the shore heading back into Kuta is Lancing Beach. There are, in fact, two entrances for this shore. Coming from Semeti Beach, the very first entry is hardly marked with only a small wooden sign. The facet of Lancing includes more of a neighborhood vibe. Parking is free, and you might even catch a motorbike haul race across the shore. There is also a little more garbage in this region, so be cautious if you walk barefoot. Christine slit her foot in a classic beer bottle. If you are pleased to relax on the sand and talk to a few locals, this aspect is really for you.

  • Surfing in Lombok

If you’re searching for surf spots and you are sick of those packed waves in Bali, subsequently Lombok has lots of alternatives. Whether you are just a beginner and require a lesson or you have been searching for years, you are going to find a wave you will enjoy in Lombok. Desert Point is among the most well recognized around the browsing community. This left-hander works a couple of times annually and is unquestionably an experts-only place, but it is known among the best surfing waves on earth.

If you’re searching for a more beginner rate, Selong Belanak includes some fantastic tiny waves and many surf educators on the shore. Additionally, there are some fantastic beginner waves around Gerupuk.
