Dip That Chip!
Attention all those with a salt tooth, today is National Chip and Dip Day; so tonight when you get home, grab your favorite bag of chips and pop open your favorite can of dip and feel free to fully indulge yourself. Now there are multiple options for chip and dip day. First, you have the tortilla chip that can be dipped in salsa, guacamole, or that great 7 layer dip that your mom makes whenever company comes over. Next, you have the original potato chip that is generally dipped into some sort of french onion dip.
If you're feeling really festive, put your chips and in dip in a nice bowl. Now don't feel like you have to finish the entire bag of chips and dip in one night. Once you've fulfilled your craving, close the bag with your chip clip and savor the snack for the remainder nights of the week.

St. Patrick's Day

Everyone's Irish on March 17th
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Although it isn't an official holiday in the United States (even though it should be!!!), like it is in Ireland, people far and wide, Irish or not, bust out their green attire today and celebrate St. Paddy's Day with great enthusiasm. From dying beers green to eating Irish food and watching the St. Patrick's Day Parade, there are multiple ways to celebrate today. St. Paddy's Day themed t-shirts are usually a big hit, as are, hats and stickers.
Generally you can't find a pub or bar within miles that isn't packed by noon (wait what time is it...) because if you're Irish, well let's face you, you enjoy the occasional drink or two. So grab your beer (if you're of age of course) and cheer to Saint Patrick, because without him this glorious day would not be around.

National Napping Day

Shh It's Nap Time
My favorite day of the year is finally here: National Napping Day! Always the first Monday after daylight savings time, national napping day, is a day to catch up on that hour of sleep we all missed the day before.
Now, for those of you who do not consider themselves "professional" nappers, such as myself, let me give you a few insights on how to enjoy this day. First, you have the power nap, which usually takes place between 20-30 minutes. It is simply a short nap that helps rejuvenate your mind and body. These can be taken on a short train ride or in the car (if you aren't driving of course!).
For those of you who need a little more time to boost your energy, the cat nap, might be more of your style. This is a leisurely nap that can last anywhere from 90 to 120 minutes, which is definitely my idea of a true nap. So go grab your pillow and sleep mask, turn off all the lights and have some sweet dreams. You deserve it, I mean, you were deprived of one full hour yesterday!

Square Root Day

Be There or Be Square
Square root day is an occurrence that takes places only nine times a century and, we are the lucky ones that get to celebrate it today! Invented by Ron Gordon, a teacher, from Redwood City, California, it is the time of the year when the month and day are the square root of the last two digits of the year. For those of you who are mathematically challenged, 3 (March is the 3rd month and today is the 3rd day) is the square root of 9 (the year being '09).
Gordon even holds a contest, in which, whoever holds the biggest square root day celebration, wins $339.00 (naturally). So start counting food into square roots and figuring out when the next 10 square root days will occur. I'll give you a head start, the next time will be April 4th 2016. Wow.
