Today marks the start of National Ventriloquism Week. Ventriloquism is a semi-dead art form in the United States. Its popularity in the early half of the century staggered off when edgier stand-up comedians became the big thing in comedy. But, you can still catch the occassional Comedy Central stand-up special with a ventriloquist. And let's not forget Franklin from Arrested Development!
