Roasting is one of the most popular and delicious cooking methods around. Since November is National Roasting Month, I can think of no better time to have fun roasting anything and everything (except, you know, things that aren’t food). Thankfully, slow-roasting is also one of the healthiest ways to prepare food. While boiling vegetables removes many of their natural vitamins, the roasting process leaves both flavor and vitamins fully intact! Unlike frying, roasting does not require abundant amounts of cooking oil which is good news for your waist line.
As delicious as roasted seasonal vegetables are this time of year, my favorite roasted item is the coffee bean. A hot cup of coffee made from perfectly roasted coffee beans is certainly welcome during these chilly winter months. Why keep the roasting festivities for November alone? I say we celebrate roasting every month!
