Check Your Batteries Day (Because You Should)

We use them for everything, so check up on your batteries today...and on a regular basis too!

Start by recharging any battery that needs to be recharged.

Next, go around your house and dig for batteries. Look in your smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, HVAC thermostat,
audio/visual remote controls and other electronic devices; any device that uses batteries and make a change. While you're looking, put up a new smoke detector in celebration of this day and you'll never forget to peek inside for batteries again.

Recycle your batteries because they can be used to make new ones! Batteries are comprised of metals such as nickel cadmium, alkaline, mercury, nickel metal hydride and lead acid that can be toxic and harm our environment so it is important that you dispose of them in a proper manner. Or stop using batteries totally and switch to eco-friendly solutions like hand-powered or even water-powered items.

Whatever you do check those batteries. Hey! It's important!
