Reach Out and Touch a Lawyer (Love Litigating Lawyers Day)

Because every profession deserves to be dutifully celebrated, August 31st has been named "Love Litigating Lawyers Day." Today's the perfect opportunity to go up to your favorite litigator and give him or her a big 'ol hug.

Where would we be without these folks? Goodness knows. I shudder to even think.

Get Carded (According to Hoyle Day)

Today's zany holiday is Accoding to Hoyle Day.

When I first read that I was just as confused as you are right now. But read on.

Mr. Edmund Hoyle wasthe man who gave us our 52-card playing deck. He was this cool guy in 18th century England who was pretty much the resident know-it-all. He published his Short Treatise on the Game of Whist in 1742. Whist was a popular card game that he sold to his buddies and clients. Although he croaked before he got to see the game really take off, the phrase, "According to Hoyle" has lived on after his death to refer to any set of thorough directions. So whenever you find yourself playing a rousing game of poker, 21 Blackjack, or Go Fish, tip your hat to Mr. Hoyle.

Naturally, to celebrate this day, we suggest you go buy yourself a nice deck of promotional playing cards.
We're looking for amusing playing card stories. Send us some.

Celebrating a Duchess (The Duchess Who Wasn't Day)

Today's offbeat holiday is the "The Duchess" Who Wasn't Day.

It celebrates novelist Margaret Wolfe Hungerford who used the pseudonym "The Duchess" whenever she'd author a book.

She is most well known for the line "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder..." which comes from her book, Molly Bawn.

Celebrate today by creating your own pseudonym. Use it to sign things and see if anyone notices!

Or you can get some nice promotional pens and bring out the inner novelist in you.

Either way is cool.

Leggo My Day-O (National Waffle Day)

Happy National Waffle Day everyone!

Yes, after a year of waiting and hoping, August 24th is finally here again!

Today is the day for all waffle aficionados to band together and bond over their love of the classic breafast treat.

There's one great way to celebrate today...book a flight to Belgium, where you can experience some authentic Belgian waffles! Or, if you don't have that kind of money and/or time, walk to the nearest diner and order some. If you're really feeling lazy, open your freezer, you just might have a box.

And what better to cook your waffles with than a clever, promotional toaster?

Eat up!

National Be An Angel Day!!

For our first post on this ever so zany blog, we're going to highlight today's particularly special holiday, National Be An Angel Day.

Take time out today to ask yourself just how exactly you can be an angel.

Some suggestions:

Go out of your way to do a good deed

Donate to a charity

Eat some angel food cake and top it with mounds of whipped cream.

Buy a new pair of wings

Polish Your Halo

If you don't feel like doing any of these activities, consider looking in to purchasing a cute, promotionally branded, angel rubby ducky. It's really cute.
