The people in Texas really seem to love their hummingbirds. The citizens in the towns of Rockport and Fulton kick off their three day Hummer/Bird Celebration today. The avian festival honors the 500 mile fall migration of the ruby-throated hummingbird from their nesting grounds in the north to their winter lodgings down in Mexico. With a variety of concessions, workshops, booths, boat tours, and other activities, the event attracts roughly 10,000 people every single year.
If you're similarly inclined to bird-loving, then look into getting some branded binoculars to help out with your bird-watching.
Share with us any stories you might have that involve birds. We'd like to read something uplifting. (No pun)
